Introduction

Dr. Kandalaft received her medical degree from Kansas City School of Medicine, University of Missouri.   She completed a residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan and at Northwestern University, Evanston Hospital in Evanston, Illinois, followed by a fellowship in surgical pathology (with an emphasis in immunohistochemistry and tumor diagnosis) at City of Hope Medical Center in Duarte, CA.

Dr. Kandalaft has more than 25 years of experience as a pathologist, with expertise in immunohistochemistry, tumor diagnosis and predictive markers. Prior to joining Pacific Pathology Partners, Dr. Kandalaft worked for 12 years in the Los Angeles area in large hospital-based practices, and then for a combined 12 years as a consultant pathologist for national reference laboratories Exoterix and PhenoPath, as Director and Associate Director of Immunohistochemistry, respectively. She is experienced in FISH analysis and contract research, and has been involved in clinical-based research projects which have led to presentations at national meetings and publications.

Dr. Kandalaft is currently an appointed member of the College of American Pathologists Expert Panel for Immunohistochemistry Assay Validation Guideline Update and was a previous appointed member of the Immunohistochemistry Committee. She is the medical director of LabCorp’s Dynacare laboratory, and is Vice-President of Pacific Pathology Partners.
