Dr. LaPointe received her Bachelor of Science in Microbiology, with honors, and Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology at the University of Montana in Missoula. She subsequently became certified as a Medical Technologist (ASCP) and a Clinical Laboratory Scientist (NAACLS). She received her medical degree at the University of North Dakota, and completed her residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at the University of Washington. Dr. LaPointe went on to complete two fellowships at the University of Washington, including one in Surgical Pathology and one in Gastrointestinal and Hepatic Pathology.
Dr. LaPointe has been a practicing pathologist since 2013, specializing in Gastrointestinal Pathology. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. LaPointe is a leader in the pathology community, serving as a member of the House of Delegates for the College of American Pathologists. She also serves as Medical Director for several laboratories in Washington.
